Out In The Styx Guesthouse is located at the base of the southern enclosure, which is ideal for exploring Maungatautari's Ecological Island or for doing the crossing.

We operate a drop-off service to Hicks Road for $10/head (minimum $40) and you can spend the day doing the north-south traverse which ends here with a relaxing hot spa. Follow this with a delicious dinner and a great sleep in one of our king-sized beds, then wake up to the birdsong already returning to Maungatautari.

Guided night walks to learn about our indigenous flora and fauna are a great option too.

Karapiro Barn is purpose built, rustic style accommodation sleeping 8-10 people and the Cottage is quaint and cosy, sleeping up to 6.

We are close to the Mountain for walking the tracks and close to Lake Karapiro for boating, water-skiing and all water related recreational activities. Also a great central base for the entire Waikato touring region.

Hazelbank House, our unique home, provides a feeling of warmth and relaxation.
We are a 10 minute drive to Maungatautari Mountain and we are just 4.5 km's from both Cambridge CBD and Lake Karapiro. We have two Queen Guest rooms and one King single twin room, each with an ensuite. Each room sleeps two and is reasonably priced at $160.00 per room.
